For those not in the know (lucky you) I am using something called WordPress to run this website. I have read claims that 33% or 40% or 43.237% (or whatever) percent of “the internet” runs on WordPress.

I don’t quite believe those numbers, as 83.52% of all statistics are wrong (look it up for yourself), and defining the internet, or saying what comprises the internet, are fool’s errands. But, for all of that, WordPress is a big deal.

But starting up a WordPress site means bashing away at filling in a lot of forms and pages and images to get things running — and a lot of that means replacing all the blank pages, or creating something to go in the spot that something else points to, just to make the software happy. It gets pretty damned metaphysical.

In short, WordPress needed me to create a post above and beyond their default placeholder boilerplate “Hello World!” post. And you have just read it.
